Mr. H. Collection WITHOUT RESERVATION 1930... - Lot 34 - Osenat
Mr. H. Collection WITHOUT RESERVATION 1930 FORD AF Serial number : 10015 French registration card The Ford Model A "first of the name" will be marketed between 1903 and 1904 at 1,700 copies. The first car marketed by the boss of the assembly line production, this car will be quickly replaced by the Model T. Built in more than 16 million units, the Ford T will mark a real turning point in the history of the American brand. But when the competition starts to emerge, Edsel, Henry Ford's son, convinces him to modernize the range and to abandon the now mythical T by a new Ford A. Thus, in 1927, a new car enters the market and will be produced until 1931 at nearly 5 million copies. Originally equipped with a 4-cylinder 3.3L engine producing 40 HP, a European version was marketed with a 2.0L engine producing 12 HP. This version allowing to reduce the tax on the fiscal power in Europe will be named Ford AF. Our example was first registered in 1937 but we assume that it was produced around 1930. It came out of the Ford factories in Asnières. It has a nice general patina inside and outside. The upholstery has no holes or tears. The engine seems to be complete but needs to be restarted. This is a nice restoration project for lovers of the pre-war period. 1930 FORD AF Serial number: 10015 French registration The Ford Model A "first of the name" was marketed between 1903 and 1904 in 1,700 units.
