1957 Porsche Allgaier A122 - Lot 84
1957 Porsche Allgaier A122 Serial number 59I6 French registration Tractors were conceptualized by Ferdinand Porsche's design offices to create a Volksschlepper "people's tractor", a project similar to the Volkswagen "Beetle", the people's car. By teaming up with the Allgaier company, which specialized in the manufacture of sheet-metal parts and a number of tractors of its own construction, Porsche created real tractors that changed the history of agricultural equipment. Then, in 1956, Porsche launched its own farm vehicle company, the Porsche Diesel brand. Model 122 was the twin-cylinder version of the range. The model we are offering for sale was delivered new in France, a rare occurrence for a Porsche tractor. It is one of the last models produced by the Allgaier company, as confirmed by its registration document. It has spent its entire life in the Occitanie region of France, purchased in the 90s by a local collector who undertook a complete restoration. The current owner acquired it and the other tractor in the sale a year ago. Recently overhauled, it's in perfect working order, as a short test drive in town showed. A little bonus: the tires are new. 1957 Porsche Allgaier A122 Serial number 59I6 French registration Tractors were conceptualized by Ferdinand Porsche's design offices to create a Volksschlepper "people's tractor", a project similar to the Volkswagen "Beetle", the people's car.
