1963 RENAULT 4L - Lot 62
1963 RENAULT 4L Series 3682984 French registration Restored One of the first examples produced. 8 000 / 12 000 Made legendary by the 4L Trophy, the Renault 4L is a popular French icon. Why Renault 4? Simply because its engine offers 4 horsepower. Produced from 1961 to 1992, it sold over 8 million units. Not surprisingly, the 4L had it all: reliable, easy to drive and maintain, and capable of driving in any environment. It was the perfect answer to the demands of the French middle class. (Initially fitted with the Billancourt engine, the Cléon-Fonte block completed the range, extending the displacement from 603 cm3 to 1,108 cm3). The Renault 4L will be available in several versions. These include the Parisienne, the Export and the GTL. A utility version was also produced and used as an advertising car. It was used by the Post Office and the Renault Service department. Today, this car is an integral part of French motoring culture, so much so that everyone has a personal story to tell about one of them. Our example dates from 1963, making it one of the first to leave the factory. Its ivory-white body is in excellent condition, and it's powered by a 4hp r1120 engine. The upholstery and mechanics are also in very good condition. After this restoration, it is delivered with its technical inspection up to date. 1963 RENAULT 4L Series 3682984 French registration Restored One of the first examples produced. 8 000 / 12 000 Made legendary by the 4L Trophy, the Renault 4L is a popular French icon.
