Archival documents concerning the career of the marine surgeon Jean René Christophe Joseph Salmon de La Herverie, a native of Piré, now Piré-Chancé in the present-day department of Ille-et-Vilaine. TOULMOUCHE (Pierre). Autograph signed as lieutenant of the first surgeon of the king and lieutenant of the Royal College of Surgery of Rennes. Rennes, March 1, 1778. One p. in-folio on parchment. Surgeon's diploma. With an autograph apostille signed by the dean of the presidial council of Rennes, Lemarchand, authenticating the signature of Pierre Toulmouche (Rennes, September 24, 1784). - TURPIN DE JOUHE (Jean-Baptiste de). Signed document as captain of ships in the squadron of the admiral d'Estaing. Cadiz, December 30, 1782. One p. in-folio, header printed with the name and qualities of Charles-Henri d'Estaing, with his coat of arms engraved on wood and the coat of arms of France engraved on copper, freckles. Order to leave the vessel the Zodiaque to serve on the Indian in the same capacity of surgeon major. - MALOUET (Victor-Pierre). Letter signed as intendant of the navy. Toulon, March 26, 1783. One p. in-folio, header printed with his name and qualities. Order to draw up, as surgeon-major of the Indian, a list of all the sick on board. - LANDORMY (Jean). Autograph document signed as lieutenant of the master of the surgeons of Ploërmel (current department of Morbihan). Ploërmel, June 10, 1785. 3 pp. in-folio on parchment. Diploma of master surgeon. With several apostilles (1785-1803).
