JEAN-CHRYSOSTOME STUMPFF (1731-1806) Cabinetmaker. Paris. Mastered August 27, 1766. Wood and veneer secretary opening with a drawer, a top and two doors at the bottom. The flap reveals four compartments and six inlaid drawers. Inlaid butterfly wings and Greek friezes on the front and sides. The upper sides are decorated with cartouches reminiscent of the upper drawer. Beautiful ornamentation in gilded bronze, such as corner falls, pull handles, lock escutcheons, etc. Black Pyrenean marble before the Louis XVI period. Stamped Stumpff and JME on the upper left crosspiece. H: 141 - W: 94.5 - D: 41 cm. Good condition, very slight wear to the veneer. Louis XVI period
