Letters patent of Baron in the name of Marie Frédéric Louis Melchior Chartier de Coussay, esquire. On vellum. Heading Louis by the grace of God King of France and Navarre. Coat of arms painted au naturel. Given in Paris on June 1, 1816. In its complete white metal case. With its dark green wax seal (wear) to the great of France and Navarre; and King Louis XVIII in majesty. Lord of Chambon, he obtained letters-patents carrying institution of majorat attached to the title of baron, on December 25, 1810. His only daughter, Adélaïde de Coussay, married on January 15, 1830, Henri-Auguste-Georges du Vergier, marquis de la Rochejacquelein, former peer, today (1856) senator of the Empire.
