Daniel SAINT, after. BAENE. "Portrait of Duke Ernest of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld (1784-1844) wearing the insignia of the Red Eagle and the Black Eagle of Prussia" Oval miniature signed on the right. 7 x 4,8 cm. Presented in a frame to suspend, in pomponne, with decoration of friezes and crown of laurels. Reverse in blue tinted glass (accident). 87 x 70 cm. A.B.E. Biography: At the death of his father, which occurred in 1806, he inherited a duchy occupied by Napoleonic troops and administered by France.
