DEFINITIVE LEAVE ON BEHALF OF THE CITIZEN ANTOINE SAUVAGE DIT LEMIRE (1773-1827) Header of the French Republic. Stamp in ink of the 17th military division, of the staff of the place of Paris and of the Military Police. Signed by Sauvage dit Lemire and general Édouard Mortier. Done in Paris on 9 fructidor An VIII (27 August 1800). 26 x 36 cm. A.B.E. Biography: Painter of history, he was born in Lunéville (54) in 1773, he died in Paris in 1827. He was a student of M. Regnault and his father Charles Lemire, a sculptor. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1806 to 1814 and was awarded a First Class medal in 1806 and 1808. He made a full-length portrait of the Duke of Angouleme, for the council room of the École Polytechnique.
