1971 MERCEDES-BENZ - Lot 66
1971 MERCEDES-BENZ "Chassis number: 12006008 6.3L engine Comfortable vehicle French title The Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.3 was launched in 1968. Erich Waxenberger, an engineer of the star brand, was the one who initiated the project. He had the idea of integrating the 6.3L V8 engine and the transmission of the 600 into the 300 SEL. The name SEL stands for "Luftfederung", which translates into "air suspension", a significant technical development for the time that the 300 SE did not have. The integration of the 600's engine made the 250 hp V8 engine profitable and gave the performance of a real sports car for its time, with a top speed of 220 km/h. The car is powerful, but this is certainly not at the expense of comfort, which is royal. Its suspension and the quality of the materials used in the interior make it a true luxury sedan made for the road. Passengers will be at ease on small winding roads, as well as on the long asphalt strips of German motorways. This beautiful German sedan was first registered in 1971. The bodywork is in good condition. The blue paint is well stretched. The hubcaps match the colour of the car. The taupe leather upholstery has a nice patina of use. The dark brown dashboard and the white steering wheel complete the picture. Under the bonnet, a 6.3L engine is housed and mated to an automatic gearbox. The whole thing works well and was recently overhauled by Paulo Antunes. This comfort machine can take you on the road and take you far. Its powerful and torquey engine will take you up any hill without a second thought. "
