1967 LANCIA
"Serial number 818332001423 Rare aluminium version Important aesthetic and mechanical preparation Rally beast French title Once the Lancia Fulvia had established itself as a flagship model of the Italian brand, with nearly 340,000 units produced in less than 10 years, it was entrusted to Zagato to offer a sportier interpretation. Its design has been completely reworked with an aluminium body which has the advantage of being lighter and weighing 35 kg. The line is remarkable and emphasises aerodynamics, giving it a much appreciated sportier look that breaks completely with the shapes of the original model. The car is unique in that the bonnet hinges are on the right-hand side and the rear hatch can be opened electrically by 3 cm to ventilate the cabin. It was available in two versions, with an 80 bhp 1216 cc V4 and then an 87 bhp 1.3 litre engine from 1967. The Italian coachbuilder knew how to get the best out of his little sports car, which was a great success, selling more than 7000 units. The Lancia Fulvia we are presenting is not just any Fulvia. It is, in the first place, one of the models Zagato bodywork with aluminium doors to save weight on the coupé. Secondly, the current owner decided to transform his Lancia Zagato into an extraordinary machine, a fierce competitor in historic rallies, by shedding superfluous kilograms and redesigning the mechanics to get the maximum performance out of the little 1.3L. To do so, the top engine was transformed and adopted forged pistons and enlarged valves. The small, expressive 4-cylinder engine has been increased from 88 to 135 horsepower, which is encouraged by the loss of 30 kg of additional weight in the passenger compartment, on the glass parts and on the engine cover. Comfortably strapped into the bucket seats, you can enjoy all the agility, power and lightness of this small, particularly well-balanced coupé, which was as much a success for Lancia as for its sporting image. Replaced by the mythical Stratos, the Fulvia is a sensational machine that carries the colours of the brand with a glorious past.
