NICOLAS-NOËL BOUTET (1761-1833) Case containing precious cutlery for leg of lamb including : - A wide curved teardrop steel knife with back and counter edge. Ebony handle inlaid with silver finely chased and engraved with foliage, palmette, fruit and rocaille motifs. Back decorated with friezes of oak leaves. Length : 32,5 cm -A large three-pronged silver fork, with a base chased in high relief with foliage. Ebony handle inlaid with silver cut, chased and engraved with foliage and the imperial eagle, holding in its talons of lightning. Back decorated with friezes of laurel leaves. Length: 29 cm -Punch Paris 2nd cock (1809 - 1819), -Middle guarantee Paris (1798 - 1809) and (1809 - 1819). -Small count Paris (1798 - 1809). -Goldsmith's hallmark of Nicolas-Noël Boutet. Gross weight : 371g. In its green morocco case, decorated with palmettes and stylized friezes (broken hinges). First Empire period. History: Under Napoleon I, the Imperial Manufactory of Versailles, which originally produced weapons of war, specialized in the production of luxury weapons, intended especially for the reward of distinguished officers. Nicolas Noël Boutet, artistic director of the factory since 1792, was recognized as the greatest harquebusier of his time, and in particular made weapons for the Emperor.
