THE STUDIES OF THE IMPERIAL PRINCE Two souvenirs : -L.A.S. from Marie de LARMINAT (1848-1927), countess des Garets, maid of honor of the Empress, to Madame La Roncière Le Nourry (1822-1902). 4 pages on mourning paper. Letter written after the death of Napoleon III. The Empress "is always very sad but very brave" She also evokes the studies of the Imperial Prince: "As for our dear Prince, he is doing as well as possible and has just passed very brilliant exams, at the school of Woolwich. He is running with pupils much older than himself, but in spite of this he has just been 5th out of 40, which is a very fine result." -EXTRACTS FROM THE MATHEMATICAL COURSE of the Royal Military Academy.
