1906 DEXTER SPORT BIPLACE
"1906 DEXTER SPORT TWO-SEATER 2 examples manufactured Probably the last one still visible Rolling car French collector's registration card Dexter is a bicycle manufacturer in the Lyon region, created by Auguste Faure at the very beginning of the 20th century. Following the craze and the large-scale development of this new means of transport, the young engineer declined his brand of bicycles by manufacturing cars. At first he focused on touring cars with powerful 4 and 6 cylinder engines, but then he started to build two cars for racing with two-seater bodies. Despite a good start, the company had to close in 1909 and will remain one of the many car brands from Lyon that disappeared. This Dexter is a reconstruction of one of the two sports cars built by the company to compete. What is surprising in this car is its 4-cylinder engine with 4 separate blocks that develops 120 horsepower and 6.5L of displacement. In 1906, Dexter already offered a 4-speed gearbox and two carburetors that feed this power monster. Its owner installed an electric starter, hydraulic brakes (very useful), dual ignition. The tires, wheels, clutch and radiator are new. Fully serviced, its characteristic engine runs perfectly well and is ready to take the road. We offer you the opportunity to acquire a pre-14 chain-driven race car!
