1902 ROCHET VOITURETTE
"1902 RATCHET CART De Dion Bouton 4.5 HP engine Mark of Lyon disappeared Nice condition, running Eligible London-Brighton To be registered in collection Now disappeared, Rochet is part of the multitude of small manufacturers in Lyon before the first world war and which, for many, did not survive the crisis of 1929. Launched at the very beginning of the century, the "voiturette" model proposed by the very young brand made the automobile accessible in the image of De Dion Bouton and its opposite number. Moreover, this small car uses the 4,5HP mechanics of the last screw contained in a robust and economic single-cylinder block with its system of "drip" of oil. In its elegant bodywork with folding top, the car is modern for its time with its real wooden steering wheel slightly tilted towards the driver to provide a great driving comfort. Left the Rochet workshops in 1902, our example of a small car has undergone an old restoration which gives it an interesting patina. In good mechanical condition, the engine was completely restored to make it run smoothly and to allow its future owner to enjoy the many pre-war and early rallies. Only one other identical model is referenced in the Henri Malartre Museum.
