1936 Peugeot 201 D
Serial number 519061 Nice condition of restoration French title Peugeot launched the 201 at the 1929 Paris Motor Show. It was manufactured in Sochaux until September 1937. It is thanks to this model that the company of the Lion will pass without problem the enormous crisis of the 30s, which swallowed many manufacturers. Its mechanics and bodywork evolved with time. The 201 represents an important milestone in the history of the brand. Its great commercial success, its image of quality construction, robustness and reliability are absolutely not usurped. It allowed Peugeot to go from "great manufacturer" to "very great manufacturer". Moreover it is the first car to use the nomenclature with "0" central still in force today. Peugeot then made a trademark registration with three digits with this central zero. This Peugeot 201 D is a nice streamlined coach called "beavertail", integrating a luggage compartment opening from the outside. Its new four-cylinder engine of 1.3 liters and 28 horsepower made it pass in the category of 7 HP while being attributed from now on 3 crankshaft bearings, against two before, supporting the reliability. It has benefited from regular maintenance by its last owner including the change of the water pump, the belt, the hoses and the installation of a water temperature sensor. The battery, the coil, the ignition are also new and the starter has been redone. The carburetors are overhauled and all oil changes are done! In good condition, both inside and outside, this 1936 model is full of charm and is an ideal little car for driving.
