JEAN DUNAND (1877-1942) "La Conquête du cheval" (The Conquest of the Horse) Gilded and lacquered stucco panel in several tones decorated with two riders capturing five wild horses in light relief. Inscribed on the back "Panneau de Jean Dunand" (Jean Dunand's panel) Cracks and reinforcement on the back 61 x 56.5 cm (21.5 x 22.5 inches) History: Model created to form one of the large wall panels in the First Class Smoking Room of the liner Normandie in 1932.
