A gilt bronze and patinated bronze "coffee... - Lot 80 - Osenat
A gilt bronze and patinated bronze "coffee bag" clock representing a torso and barefoot Nubian, a stick in his right hand, carrying a coffee bag on his shoulder and pouring it into a barrel containing the enamelled dial with Roman numerals for the hours, with a palm tree on the other side. It stands on a canted base with field work and two pterygotes with outstretched wings in appliques, it is finished with ball skids. 19th century (restorations) H. 30 cm W. 30 cm D. 9,5 cm An identical clock appeared in the exhibition : - "Pendule au Nègre" St Omer Musée de l'Hôtel Sandelin from 29 April to 12 June 1978 p.6 fig. 2 - "De Noir et d'Or", pendules "au bon sauvage", Brussels, musée Royaux d'Art et d'Histoire 1993 - "La pendule à sujet" St Omer Musée de l'Hôtel Sandelin from 26 June to 12 September 1993 n°5.
