48. DESPREAUX (Jean-Étienne). Mes Passe-temps: Chansons suivies de L'Art de la danse. In Paris, at the author's, Petit, [the name of the Defrelle bookshop was masked at the time by a collar], 1806. One volume (of 2) in-8, viii-306-(2) pp, green morocco, smooth spine decorated, gilt frieze of vine leaves bordered by two gilt fillets framing the boards with a gilt coat of arms in the centre, gilt edges, inner gilt border, red moire lining and endpapers, gilt edges (period binding).Second edition of this collection originally published in 1802 by Defrelle. Illustration engraved on copper: frontispiece out of text and a vignette after Jean-Michel Moreau known as Moreau le Jeune, and another vignette by different artists. Bound afterwards, from the first volume: 4 ff. entitled "Musique des Passe-temps" (paginated 245 to 251, the last one blank), and 24 leaves of engraved music, 22 of them on both sides (paginated 2 to 47). BEAUTIFUL BINDING IN TIME-BASED MAROQUIN WITH THE GREAT ARMS OF THE EMPIRE (OHR, pl. 2652, iron no. 11 in small format).
