Paris, Tuileries Palace, November 18, 1807. "I announce to you that by decree of November 1, I HAVE APPOINTED MONSIEUR [JEAN DE] MÜLLER MINISTER SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE KINGDOM OF WESTPHALIA..." - Palace of Cassel, April 1, 1808. "I received your letter relating to THE QUEEN'S DOT... It appears that H[a]m[ajesty] the King of Württemberg did not put a long importance on this affair, because he gave the order... to pay my minister without more difficulty. I am sensitive... to the new testimonies which you give me of your devotion, & I beg you to receive, as a mark of my affection, A BOX WITH MY PORTRAIT, which I charge Mr. Beugnot [Jacques-Claude Beugnot, Minister of Finance of the kingdom of Westphalia] to give you...
