A white marble and gilt bronze hanged lamp. Model decorated with a faun crowning a nymph accompanied by her mandolin. The two subjects are standing on circular columns decorated with openwork rings with a frieze of palmettes. They are leaning against the drum that contains the movement. The drum is placed on a small mound with a bronze representing a tripod Athenian woman with goat heads and two flower falls on the sides. Underneath, supported by six spinning top feet, a marble base arched with pearl friezes and decorated with bronze scrapers on the sides in the shape of a half-moon, and a bas-relief in the taste of Clodion in the centre, with bow and quiver in clouds. White enamelled dial with polychrome flowers and Arabic numerals for the hours and minutes signed "VERBERIE à Paris" and attributed to Coteau. Beautiful pair of openworked hands decorated with flaming suns. Parisian work from the end of the Louis XVI period around 1790-1793 Height : 39 cm , Width : 29 cm , Depth : 12 cm (chips, two feet missing)
