Utagawa Hiroshige (1797 - 1858) after - Tajima province: Kannon temple in a cellar of the Iwai valley - Print from the series called "Views of the famous sites of the sixty and some provinces of Japan" - period: circa 1900 - 36 x 24 cm + the frame - corners glued on cardboard, paper slightly warped - Utagawa Hiroshige (1797 - 1858) Japanese draughtsman, engraver and painter. Prolific author, active between 1818 and 1858, he created a work consisting of more than 5 400 prints. Along with Hokusai, he is one of the last great names of the print and, in particular, of the landscape print, in Japan.
