Ferdinand BARBEDIENNE (1810-1892) Pair of vases mounted as lamps in cloisonné bronze with fine enamelled decoration of polychrome leafy and flowery arabesques on a sky-blue background, supported by handles decorated with busts of Dionysus, they stand on a quadripod base finished by claws. Signed F.BARBEDIENNE on the base. Note: Barbedienne founded his company in 1839 and reproduced in bronze most of the statues of the museums of Europe. He created many models of bronze furniture of enamels high and low reliefs. His work is of very high quality and his vases are found in wealthy circles.
