CHARLES SAUVAGE, CALLED LEMIRE, AFTER Allegory of the marriage of the Dauphin, future Louis XVI, with Marie-Antoinette Bronze with the alliance arms of the Dauphin Louis of France and the Archduchess Marie-Antoinette of Austria. Marked on the terrace " six copies n°2 ". Height 48 x 30 cm. 19th century Presented on a round wooden base covered with crimson velvet. Biography : Charles Gabriel SAUVAGE known as Lemire-Sauvage. French sculptor (born on April 24, 1741 in Lunéville (Meurthe et Moselle), died in 1827 in Paris), son of a foundryman, Lemire worked very young, in 1759, in the modeling workshops of the Niderviller factory. He was its director for about twenty years. He exhibited in Paris from 1808 to 1819. He won a medal in 1808.
