1968 CITROËN DS 19 DANDY RECONSTRUCTION
Series: 4328407 Engine: 0589905948 French registration After the Second World War, the coachbuilder Chapron suffers, the orders of special bodies for Bugatti, Delage or Delahaye is no longer on the agenda. The arrival of the DS is therefore a godsend for the coachbuilder, who will be able to practice his art again on a car that fits. In addition to its technical qualities and its exceptional comfort, it has the prestige and status expected of a coachbuilder. As early as 1958, Henri Chapron offered his cabriolets and coupes, which he named according to the version: Croisette, Concorde, Caddy, Palm Beach or Le Dandy. The DS's that go through Chapon have a more meticulous finish than the standard DS, with chrome trim, richer hubcaps and lower body panels, while the interior receives specific seats. And this for only twice the price of a classic DS. With its low windscreen, this coupe looks good and its high luxury finish gives it the distinction that belongs to a coachbuilder's car. Less than 50 Le Dandy coupes were produced between 1960 and 1968. The proposed vehicle is a reconstruction of the famous dandy made by Chapron in 19 version, it has been very well made and its lines are superb. Its cream paint, its black vinyl roof and its interior go perfectly together and are in very good condition. The cockpit and its 100 percent Jaeger instrumentation are beautiful and invite to travel.
