Pair of beechwood shepherds' chairs, moulded and carved, the backrest surmounted by pomegranates, the armrests fluted with acanthus leaves, resting on tapered, fluted and filleted legs, covered with beautiful Aubusson tapestries decorated with children and animals. One stamped A.GAILLARD (Antoine Gaillard, received master in 1781). 95 cm , Width : 65,5 cm , Depth : 55 cm A living room composed of a sofa, two bergères and six comparable armchairs, stamped by Gaillard is partly illustrated in "L'art et la Manière des maîtres ébénistes français au XVIIIe siècle" by Jean Nicolay, Paris, 1956.
