FRIGATE LA FLORE 1784 DITE " L'AMÉRICAINE " Model at 1/75, model made according to the plans published by the A.A.M.M, (Association des amis du musée de la Marine). This frigate would be the vestal built in Brest in 1756, captured by the Royal Navy in 1761 and renamed HMS FLORA. In 1778 during the Rhode Island battles, the English scuttled the Flora on the coast, in 1782 the Americans refloated her and rearmed her in Boston. In 1784, she was bought by the royal family and kept her name of FLORE, rearmed in 1787, she was stationed in Senegal between 1788 and 1789. Sold in 1792 for racing, she still sails under French flag. She was finally captured in 1798 and destroyed by the English. Sold in a glass and plexiglass case.
