Pair of chased and gilt bronze parrot horns, the birds with spread wings resting on a fluted sheath in a frame of foliage, with neoclassical vase and frieze of piastres, (without irons). In the taste of the bronze maker Jacques Caffieri. Louis XV period. H : 33 cm, W : 31 cm Jacques Caffieri (1678-1755) made a pair of gilt bronze andirons with parrots (of a different model) for the Duchess of Parma at the Château de Colorno (Paris, Sotheby's, 5 May 2015, lot 180).
