1960 SUNBEAM ALPINE SÉRIE 1
Serial number 9002906LR0 Nice restoration project Cult model from the James Bond and Max the Menace movies French registration The Alpine's successful design makes it an attractive convertible. The clear design and the slender forms give birth to a dynamic line, which is extended by sharp fins, certainly in the air of time but which fit well to the car. Designed in 1957, the Alpine is equipped with the 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine of the Rapier Series II launched at the same time. Compared to the Rapier II, however, it had an aluminium cylinder head, a new rear axle and front disc brakes. With two carburetors, the power reaches 78 hp which allows the car to exceed 155 km/h. This Sunbeam Alpine Serie 1 was delivered new in France on July 8, 1960. It changed hands in 1967, becoming the property of Mr Jublin. Stopped for a long time, it now needs a restoration to its original beauty. The Sunbeam Alpine Serie 1 is a rare model, especially in left hand drive, so this model represents a nice restoration project to make it a nice English style convertible!
