1944 JEEP WILLYS MB
Serial number 346615 Known history French collection title This Willys MB Jeep, leaving the factory in July 1944, would have arrived in France with a regiment of Canadian dragoons. It could have been part in the Battle of Normandy during which she was ambushed and immobilized by bullets, with a perforated radiator and a punctured left front wheel, so she was abandoned by her crew. Recovered by the mayor of the town, she was assigned after the war to the village firefighters. It was then bought by an individual in 1974, then changed hands again in 1978 and then in 1981 to the current owner. Highly original, with the exception of a Solex carburetor and a Hotchkiss windshield, it was never in the French army and therefore has not been modified over the course of its life. Much work has been carried out in recent years and since 2014, including replacement of the gearbox, clutch and all gaskets. The electrical system was also reconditioned, the transfer box and handbrake were reconditioned by Jeep Village, the fuel filter and hoses were replaced as well as the master cylinder and the four brake cylinders. In December 2020, an oil change and lubrication was carried out, the spark plugs, the platinum screws and the fuel pump were replaced. A blank technical control was then passed. The car will also be sold with its canvas top, doors and side panels, the original shovel and ax. It has new upholstery, wheels with removable combat rims, gun holder, first aid box, fire extinguisher, two pairs of snow chains, spare parts, inflation pump , the oil burette, the grease gun, the service manual TM-10-1349 in French, the radio antenna, various accessories, but also a book of maintenance invoices since 1974 .
