CANOVA (ANTONIO). Autograph letter signed "Antoine Canova", in French [to Count Joachim Louis Ernest of Hinnisdäl]. Probably Rome, between 1802 and 1808], 2 pp. in-4, address on the back, with vestige of red wax seal, small marginal tear due to the opening on the address leaf without affecting the text. I am all the more distant to complain about your so long silence, that I am embarrassed to testify to you the feelings of my gratitude on the details of the news you have been kind enough to give me and of your trip, your health, and the family increased by a little girl. You are doing wonderfully well to count on the interest I take in these matters, and I am delighted that I am being given justice for the esteem and friendship you owe me. Mr. Aguati [?] has received from me on your behalf the ten louis of which you will already be informed by Monsignor Sala [the future Cardinal Giuseppe Antonio Sala], to whom the receipt will have been sent. When Mr. Rio [?] gives me the money you mentioned in your letter, I will not delay in passing it on to the same artist as you intended.
