In 1863, after the exclusion of more than 3,000 works by the jury of the Paris Salon, he took part in the "Salon des Refusés", a protest event allowing more than 800 artists to exhibit their rejected works. His major works such as Vue d'Agay (1895) and Soleil couchant à Ivry (1873) can be seen at the Musée d'Orsay. Jean-Baptiste Armand Guillaumin studied painting at the Swiss Academie, where he met Paul Cézanne. In 1863, after the exclusion of more than 3,000 works by the jury of the Paris Salon, he participated in the "Salon des Refuses," protest event for over 800 artists to exhibit their refused work. His major works such "Vue d'Agay" (1895) and "Sunset at Ivry" (1873) are visible at the Orsay Museum.
