PICABIA (Fra ncis). Autograph manuscript... - Lot 44 - Osenat
PICABIA (Fra ncis). Autograph manuscript entitled "Mary and Joseph". S.d. 26 ff. in-4 in a schoolbook, detached cover. BLASPHEMATORY TALE, in which Mary, a homosexual, earns her living by giving song tours in nightclubs. A long text, unfinished however, in the anti-religious Dadaist vein of his drawing "The Blessed Virgin", published in 1920 in the magazine 391, or of his book Jesus Christ Rastaquouère, published in 1921. "Mary came to sit under the portrait of Joseph, with great majesty and grandeur. Mary, you seem very young to me, would you allow me to ask you a few questions? First of all, religion, do you have religion? Do you still have ideals? Are you concerned about men? Mary is at the wrong age, the age when girls get sad. Mary said yes, yes! with her head. She was sitting on the lower abdomen of a little young man, her hand was throwing blue lights, with something prophetic. We don't go out much," she told me, "Joseph and I have been looking for a golden woman for years, like others looking for the philosopher's stone. Then she got up, her skirt seemed to hold her buttocks. This picturesque creature, failed and dreaming, said to me: "I'll have a butterfly-like gas bill put behind the careaux to better see Joseph's portrait" . »
