1969 JAGUAR 420 G
Chassis No. GTD77828BW Motor no. 7D59197-8 Automatic gearbox Rare left-hand drive and odometer French car registration document Succession of Mr. X The Jaguar 420 appeared on October 13, 1966 at the London Motor Show. Very homogeneous and endowed with a real personality, the 420 appears balanced, temperate, but above all elegant. Under the bonnet, the 4.2-litre powertrain propels the luxury sedan. One of the 420's strong points is also its braking system, which is more efficient than the S-type. Bernard Viart in his excellent book "Jaguar Sedans and Tradition" describes the 420: "On the road, the 420 is brilliant, fast, nervous and leaves the Mark II 3.4 and the 3.8-litre S far behind in terms of acceleration up to 160 km/h". The 420 G, with a G for "Big", is based on the Mark X and gives the car a more statutory look; The Motor magazine of October 1966 classified it as one of the "most beautiful big cars in the World today". Of German origin, this beautiful 420 G is in a fine state of preservation both in bodywork and paintwork and offers a spacious, luxurious interior of cream-coloured leather and light-coloured woodwork also in good condition. In 2017, the car's steering column underwent a major overhaul and the retaining ring was replaced at Cecil Cars in Ollainville. This is a rare opportunity to treat oneself to one of the symbols of typically British luxury with driving comfort and an engine like no other.
