1941 BUICK Super Eight Phaeton Convertible Type 51C
Serial number 14194310 Delivered new to a Maharajah Clear history - same owner since 1989 Indian title - Certificate 846 A This Buick Super Eight Phaeton Convertible was delivered new in India to His Highness, Maharajah Sahib Nabah. The current owner acquired it in 1989 and imported it to France. After having drive his car for more than twenty years, he decided to make it undergo a partial restoration in the workshops of Still Racing, in Toulouse, led by Eric Helary, famous racing driver who notably won the 1993 24 Hours of Le Mans on Peugeot 905. Thus, the Buick will receive a complete restoration of the chassis, including a replacement of all the silent-blocks, hoses, brake parts, shock absorbers, ball joints, tires ... The engine received a new water pump , new carburetors, a new ignition harness, as well as a new fuel system and filters. The clutch was replaced two years ago. The painting was only renovated, because, although old, it still looked very good. Some chromes were redone at the same time. In the cockpit, the counters were revised and the red leather treated. Today, the car is in a very good close to original condition, offering a pleasant patina. The whole is completely coherent, testifying to an old quality restoration. The body is beautiful, well aligned. The soft top is in very good condition, the interior is largely original, but the leathers are supple and in good condition, the carpets are very well preserved. All numbers are matching and the car obtained a technical inspection at the end of 2019. It is a beautiful specimen of a rare Buick Super Eight Phaeton Convertible four door that we are offering today at auction. A car with a unique history since it belonged to a Maharajah.
