1952 PANHARD X86 Junior SIAA Di Rosa
Serial number 480153 Isolated production of the Junior Coachwork by Di Rosa Clear history - second hand same owner since 1985 French title The history of this X86 chassis number 480153 begins on May 17th, 1952 when it was delivered, as a bare chassis, by the Panhard branch of Avenue Montaigne in Paris to a certain Mr. Botok. Given the fact that May 1952 was the month of the (slow) start of serial production of the Junior X87, this car is in reality an isolated production built by the coachworker SIAA Di Rosa, itself having produced the Junior prototypes. It is thus a special issue Junior, a form of probably unique customer prototype. The windshield is specific, located halfway between that of the eight prototypes produced by Di Rosa and the Panhard series productions; the trunk is unique, the trunk of a junior is normally reached from the back of the seat. The specifics of this Junior and its history were explained to us by the Panhard specialist, Bernard Vermeylen.. This car only changed hands in 1983 for its current owner who bought it in an auction of the Musée de l’automobile française à Villiers -en-lieu. It is then a second hand, we also have a copy of the first handwritten registration card! In 2011, car number 480153 was completely restored, including engine repair, sandblasting, cataphoresis and epoxy painting of the chassis, while the bodywork was repainted and new old stock optics were fitted. The braking system was refurbished and Michelin collection tires were installed. The bumpers, upholstery and soft top have also been refurbished. It is thus a very interesting example of the famous Junior, a certainly unique model bodied by Di Rosa, at the time on a Dyna X86 chassis delivered naked to its first owner. Its history could not be more clear (many old pictures and documents provided with the car) and it is moreover, in a very good state of restoration.
