Jean-Marc NATTIER, 18th century French School entourage Portrait of Madame Infante, eldest daughter of King Louis XV and Marie Leszczynska Oil on canvas. Provenance: Collection Norbert de Beaulieu Exhibition: Château de Madame de Graffigny, Gomien et les portraitistes Lorrains " Une autre école de Nancy ", Villiers-les-Nancy, 18 October to 12 November 2008. History: Louise-Elisabeth de FRANCE (1727-1759), daughter of France then infante of Spain and Duchess of Parma and Piacenza, she is the eldest of the ten children of the King of France Louis XV and Queen Marie Leszczynska. In 1739, she was married to the infanta Philip of Spain and had three children. She returned to France many times in the course of her life and in particular to the Court of Versailles where she was much happier. When she settled in Parma, a duchy conquered by Louis XV and offered to Philip of Spain, she brought French culture and imposed the Versailles style in her palace.
