History of the Coronation, or Relation of religious, political and military ceremonies, which took place during the memorable days dedicated to celebrating the Coronation and Rite of His Imperial Majesty Napoleon I, Emperor of the French. In Paris, at the home of P. L. Dubray, and at the imprie Galletty, thermidor year 13 - 1805. First edition of this book dedicated to Joachim Murat, recounting the ceremonies, quoting the speeches, and describing in detail the places and their ornaments. The book is preceded by a preliminary speech by the writer Joseph Lavallée, former officer then head of division at the Grand Chancellery of the Legion of Honour, and followed by a "Nominal list of public officials, military and national guards, called to the Ceremony of the Rite and Coronation of Their Imperial Majesties", established by the writer and officer Alexandre Coupé of Saint-Donat. 7 portraits engraved on copper out of text, one after Eugène Isabey (Joachim Murat) and 6 after Auguste-Gaspard-Louis Desnoyers (Napoleon I, Josephine, Pius VII, Louis Bonaparte, Joseph Bonaparte, and Eugène de Beauharnais). Superb morocco copy signed by Pierre Lefebvre, nephew, collaborator and successor of Jean-Claude Bozérian. The inner wheel comes from the latter's material. Provenance: ex-libris stamp with the number "LL" on the back of the second upper guard.
