MURAT ( Joachim). Letter signed "J. Napoleon" as King of Naples. "On the battlefield of Vachau[Wachau, near Leipzig]", October 14, 1813. 1 p. in-4." Major General Baron Pajol is appointed Commander of our Royal Order of the Two Sicilies... "The Royal Order of the Two Sicilies had been created in 1808 by Naples' King Joseph Bonaparte, and maintained by his successor Joachim Murat. In the Saxony campaign, General Claude-Pierre Pajol commanded the 5th cavalry reserve corps (dragons) under the command of King Murat: on 14 October there was an avant-garde fight in Wachau prior to the battle of Leipzig, where Pajol was wounded in the fall of his horse killed by a cannonball (16 October). Saturday, December 7, 2019 / Osenat / 33 Napoleon I, in a letter to Marshal Macdonald, stated on October 15: "The enemy attacked yesterday the King of Naples with 80,000 men, he made six attacks, he was repelled everywhere, eighty gun pieces were engaged, the 5th Cavalry Corps, composed partly of cavalry from Spain, made the most beautiful charges.
