Rare armchair in partially green and gilded... - Lot 273 - Osenat
Rare armchair in partially green and gilded lacquered wood, the rolling armrests supported by columns, the slightly curved belt, rests on front baluster feet and arched hind feet. Unreadable stamp of: "JACOB D. RUE MESLEE", as well as an ink label with an unreadable inscription: "Grand Salon appt de St Cloud" Red fabric trim with neoclassical motifs Empire Period. (Small restorations, wear and tear). H: 91,5-L: 59-P: 50,5 cm Château de Versailles retracing the history of this chair. History of this armchair: "Grand Salon appt. de St Cloud", probably delivered for the First Consul to the Château de Saint Cloud around 1804-1805. It bears the inventory numbers in black ink, not very legible: V: for Versailles: n° 6986 (in 1840 in the apartments of the Queen Mary Amelie, wing of the Southern Ministers), n° V52666 and n° 4434 (in 1855, Sieur Verdier's accommodation, court of the Princes, Orléans pavilion). Released on May 3, 1966, then probably sold the domains. PT: for Petit Trianon and the number 137 which could correspond to suite n° 39 3 1345. "Four painted wooden armchairs, baluster feet, square backs, yellow Utrecht velvet cutlery, golden nails". (Inventory of 1833). Provenance: Private collection then sale 2014. Collection of the Château de Saint Projet known as Château de la Reine Margot.
