Signed autograph letters and documents in various formats. Exceptional set of about a hundred letters and documents that belonged to Maître Guichard, a lawyer in Paris. It testifies to his activity in the service of Sophie Dawes, Baroness of Feuchères, and his family. The majority of the letters are addressed to Maître Guichard, Sophie Dawes' lawyer, some of them were sent to Sophie Dawes who forwarded them to her lawyer. These documents concern three main subjects: the investigation on the death of the last prince of Bourbon-Condé and the subsequent trial. - 26 letters allowing to follow the various stages of the investigation, in particular those of Mr. Gouffé, a lawyer in Pontoise. - 15 undated letters and handwritten notes. The many notes, made by Master Guichard, record the statements made by the witnesses during the investigation. - 1 slanderous brochure Sophie Dawes.
