The General of High Portfolio. Wallet with six gussets and a flap, in green morocco, decorated with a small gold iron with friezes of leaves and flowers. With the inscription on the front "Mr. General d'Hautefeuille". Silver urn-shaped lock with triangular key. B.E. Restoration Period - July Monarchy. 43 x 28.5 cm. Biography: Eugène Louis Texier, Count of Hautefeuille (1779-1846) He joined the service in 1808 and served in the Spanish campaign, and in 1809, in Germany. He returned to Spain in 1810 and campaigned in Russia in 1812. At the First Restoration, he was in charge of reorganizing the 3rd Regiment of Light Lancer Riders on April 20, 1814, became a knight of the Royal and Military Order of Saint-Louis and an officer of the Legion of Honour. He then moved to the 2nd Lancers Regiment on November 30, 1814. During the Hundred Days he went to Ghent where King Louis XVIII had gone into exile. During the Second Restoration, he became colonel of the Calvados dragons (1st of the weapon) in 1815. He joined the General Staff in 1819 and was promoted to Commander of the Legion of Honour in 1821. In 1822, he was appointed colonel of the 7th Dragon Regiment with which he served in the 1823 Spanish Campaign, which earned him the promotion to camp marshal. In 1830, he returned to service and the new government gave him command of the Calvados department. He then retired from service in his pleasure house in Sèvres. He died there in 1846.
